So may as well attempt to start a conversation about something Anyway, so I finally came out to two more of my friends this week. One of them wasn't surprised at all (her comment was something like "awwwww, no more straight yaoi fanboy" ). The other was kinda surprised (well, I woulda thought it was bloody obvious for any yaoi fan to see it in me but I guess not ). So yay! I fell much better having more ppl in on my secret ^_^ Bah, stupid world sucks for making it such an abnormal thing grrrrrr. Anyway though, I did get something out of the deal though. My friends have lots of Japanese YnM doujins So I'm gonna take a crack at a few of the shorter ones and see what I can make of it. No promises though SO don't get your hopes up too much. Anyway, lets see if this livens the board up any.

yah it had been dead around here.
thats awesome for you tho. i really hate ppl who arnt accepting. in my soc class we just had a topic on gay rights...and its this group assignment and three of us are totally for it...but the other two are completly against it. and i just cant understand why. i really dont understand how they can advocate for equaly rights for everyone...but cut people out.
and in other news....haha this guy totally gave me a cliche line today while i was at the store. ive never actually had the clich ones said seriously..only in joke. so he says to me. "are you from the sky"...i didnt know what he said so im like "whaaaa?" and he said it again..and i kinda laughed like are you serious...and i didnt know how to answer so i just kinda..."uh...nooo"...lol and he goes "cuz you look like an angel"
haha..i said thanx and walked away laughing and he yells "IM SERIOUS"...but i left. it was so corny...but it was kinda nice haha...cuz i was in pjs..and i seriously looked like a scrub..so i guess thats nice to get a compliment even when i looked like that.

YEAH! Go Reikou! Awesome. I think perhaps yaoi fans accept the whole gay issue as natural, myself included. I have several bisexual friends and I hardly ever think about it. In fact, about 3 weeks ago I found out that a good friend of mine (I knew her from Taekwondo and she was a friend of one of my best friends. Sorry if that didn't make any sense...) was bisexual. I just kind of said "Hm. I never knew." and went on with my life. *shrugs* However I know too many people who aren't like me and think being gay is wrong... I ignore them.
Congradulations Jadey! *laughs* Good to know that you look like an angel even at your worst!

It's cool of you to have come out, but I just wanna say don't be too paranoid about people not accepting. Homosexuality is becoming more and more accepted the more and more people come out. It's much more digestible now than it was 5 years ago, unless the folks you're talking to are hardcore religious. I don't know where you live but where I live (so cali) it's to the point where I'm not sure whether or not to ask a coworker, for example, whether she has a boyfriend or he has a girlfriend because I have a good chance about being wrong about their sexual orientation...I'm always paranoid I'm gonna offend somebody. *L* When my best friend told me she was bi, it was a real shock to me, because we spent so much time talking about boys and we'd known each other so long..I didn't believe her at first because I simply couldn't believe she would hide something that big from me, I felt a little betrayed, kind of. If closer friends react badly that could be a reason, but so far things seem ok for you.

The best friend of my good friend is also gay. First it was very difficult 'cause he was in love with my friend and he made scenes in front of my friend's girlfriend and so on... So my friend was really scared and didn't know what to do. It took some time and they played in the same RPG group (Shadowrun). My friend started to like this gay boy who was chasing after him. Then he lost his girlfriend and was very grateful that there was a person who was here for him and truly loved him. Yeah and finally they became best friends. But there is nothing slashy 'cause my friend think it's unnatural and he would never let himself love a man.
The strange thing is that whenever I talk about his gay friend he doesn't allow me to say ANYTHING bad about him.
My personal thought: EVERYONE is bi. If you really love a person it doesn't matter if it's a girl or a boy.

@Jadey: BWUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Ok, enough of that ;P Seriously, I didn't think guys actually used lines like that. I'm embarrased for my entire gender -.-; Maybe we should just have Jadey post a pic and we can all come up with stupid pick up lines
Anyway, back on topic. Yeah, it's nice to let more ppl know. It's hard to pretend around people. One of my friends I'm never gonna tell since he believes it's inherantly wrong -.-; I'd hate to destroy our relationship. We click so well, we're both total goons and love just goofing off. But oh well.
And I'm surprised nobody took intetest in the fact that I might be scanlating a YnM Doujin. It's pervy Muraki x Hisoka/Tsuzuki x Hisoka

i'm inclined to believe Lady Elanor about everyone being bi... i think that too. It's kinda like the blank slate theory. i'm too tired to explain, but i think everyone knows what i'm thinking anyway. ==
honestly, my views have changed so much over the past few years... maybe it's a good thing i came across yaoi/yuri, because if not, i'd still be living with my head up my ass... My family (especially my dad) is really quite religious, and he blows up if i'm wearing an 'ankh' pendant (the egyptian thing)... so i'm reluctant to voice my opinions in front of them. My mom's probably a little less freaky, but she thinks homosexuality and stuff is all wrong too.. *sighs*
I have a friend who used to be the exact clone of me personality-wise. we used to think in exactly the same way, like the same things, and totally agree on manga/anime... then when I moved away, i started to get into other things that she'd never even come across. We still get along really well, but she finds the things i watch and read too weird for her...
i think that she's how i'd have been if i hadn't loosened up.... ._.;
And on a lighter note... YAMI NO MATSUEI DOUJINSHI!!! YAAAAAYY!! Hisoka pairings... rools: [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

We, supportive people are fun. I think the concept of everyone being bi is cool. I wonder if it's just a question of how ppl are socialized and a question of the social construction of society. I should totally ask my sociology prof about this, see what his take is. And yeah, I can't be out to everyone since one of my friends totally isn't cool about gay ppl sadly. I'm actually only out to girls lol. Which is sad. Then again, most of my friends now are girls anyway

Hmm not sure if it's only education or social construction but I know many ppl who are simply not attracted by their own gender. I'm not sure if a woman could attract me but I think it's not impossible. Sometimes I really wish everybody for being bi because our world would be much fairer.
@Reikou: Yeah, ask your prof. I'm interested what he says to this idea.
Do you really think your male friend wouldn't like you any longer if he'd know that you are gay?
